Farewell party

What is the greatest thing of the experience of living abroad? Now I can say that it’s the people you meet. Maastricht is one of the most “gezellig” cities that I have ever seen, but without the people that I’ve met here the experience wouldn’t have been the same.

Thank you guys for the great time. For letting me grow with you during almost a year and half.

See you either in Maastricht or Barcelona.

Energia positiva!

El passat cap de setmana va ser un pre-acomiadament dels amics que he fet a Maastricht, i de visita del Marc i la Laura.

Però abans de parlar d’acomiadaments parlem de la seva visita que per suposat ha estat genial. Ha estat un cap de setmana relaxant, de posar-nos al dia tranquil.lament, d’intercanvi d’energia positiva, de sortida en bicicleta... i per suposat de festa, però això serà en un altre post.

M’ha encantat tenir-vos per aquí en aquests darrers dies a Maastricht.

Comer y reír, bicicleta, más comer y reír, correr... y reír!

El título de este post es el resumen del fin de semana pasado. La excusa: correr la carrera “Maastricht Mooiste” (la más bonita ;-)

Era la primera carrera que hacían juntas las “Three Marys (forever)”. Y a partir de ahora intentaremos hacer una carrera juntas todos los años. Allí donde el mundo pida reunirnos ;-)

El fin de semana incluyó la visita de los súper amigos de Mary 1, Patricia, y fue un no parar. Empezamos el viernes con cenita, el sábado con ruta en bici a la abadía de Val Dieu en Bélgica, aprox. 48 km de subidas y bajadas con salida de marcha por la noche, y el domingo carrera en Maastricht. La carrera fue preciosa.

El colofón del fin de semana lo tubo la fabada asturiana que nos preparó Patricia. 

Hay que repetir un fin de semana así! Para cuándo?

Kayaking in Durbuy

Summer has invaded the Netherlands and after more than a year in Maastricht I have learned the lesson. Do as Dutch do, so if the weather is nice just stop whatever you do or have to do and enjoy it. You never know what you’ll have in the next few hours so better to take advantage of it.

This long weekend is being more than a great present. We have really high temperatures and any clouds ahead. With such a beautiful weather you just want to be outside for a picnic, cycling, sitting in a terrace or kayaking, as we did last Saturday.

Thosrten organised an excellent day in Durbuy (Belgium). We went kayaking, we had a bit of sighting of the medieval town and the icing on the cake was the ice-cream at the end of the afternoon. Really an excellent plan!

Note: I’m writing this post lying in the park (Stadspark) trying not to think that temperatures will drop to 12 ºC next Wednesday ;-(

Cap de setmana de mama!

Ha estat la primera vegada que organitzava un cap de setmana només amb la meva mare, i ha estat fantàstic. Per suposat que hem trobat a faltar a l'Eli, al papa... però ja era hora que en 37 anys tinguéssim un cap de setmana llarg per a nosaltres dues ;-)
Hem tingut temps de posar-nos al dia, de xerrar, de pensar en coses transcendentals o tonteries, de riure, passejar i anar en bici, d'anar al teatre per veure la companyia nacional de dansa d'Holanda (impressionant!!!), de conèixer llocs nous, menjar bé i amb vistes impressionants, i sobretot d'estar tranquil.les al nostre ritme.
Pel que fa el temps, hem tingut de tot. Solet fins cremar-nos i fred com en ple hivern ;-( amb pluja, pedra i molt de vent. Però no ha estat cap impediment per gaudir al màxim

Està clar que s'ha de repetir!
